Privacy notice
This notice explains what happens to your details when you use this website. Last updated: [to confirm: date this notice was last checked].
Who we are
Evolution Energy North East Ltd, Cookson House, Chester-le-Street, Durham, DH2 2AN. You can contact us about your data by email at enquiries@evolutionenergynortheast.co.uk or by phone on 07399558436. We decide how your details are used, which makes us the controller under UK data protection law.
What we collect
Only what you send us through the enquiry form: your name, a phone number or email address, your message and, if you choose to give it, your postcode.
If you phone or email us directly, we receive whatever you tell us in that call or email.
What we do with it
When you send the form, your details are emailed to us so we can reply. The website does not keep a copy: nothing you type is saved in a database or written to a log on the website.
The email stays in our inbox for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows. [to confirm: how long enquiry emails are kept, such as 12 months after the last contact]
We use your details only to reply and, if you ask us to, to give you a quote or do the work. We do not send marketing and we do not sell or share your details.
Our lawful basis
Where you ask us about work, we use your details to take the steps you have asked for before any contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Otherwise we rely on our legitimate interest in replying to a message you chose to send us (Article 6(1)(f)).
Who else handles your details
- Cloudflare hosts this website and runs the enquiry form. The form is sent through Cloudflare's email service to our inbox. Cloudflare is based in the United States and may process data there. Cloudflare's privacy policy explains how it protects data sent from the UK.
- Cloudflare Turnstile is the spam check on the contact page. To tell people from automated spam, it processes your IP address, details your browser sends (the user agent and how it connects), and which website the check is on. Cloudflare says it uses these only to detect and block bots, not to identify or profile anyone, and that Turnstile does not read what you type in the form. See the Turnstile privacy addendum.
- Our email provider holds our inbox: [to confirm: who provides the business's email inbox].
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking.
On the contact page only, the spam check runs in a small frame from challenges.cloudflare.com. Cloudflare lists the cookies its challenge system can use: cf_chl_rc_i, cf_chl_rc_ni and cf_chl_rc_m, which help Cloudflare find faults, and cf_clearance, which records that a check was passed. Cloudflare describes all of these as strictly necessary. We have not turned on the Turnstile setting that adds cf_clearance for this website. Because this storage is strictly necessary for the spam check on a form you choose to send, the law does not require us to ask first, so there is no cookie banner.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your details, ask us to correct or delete them, ask us to limit how we use them, or object to how we use them. Contact us using the details above. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
